  1.  before me, rinsed in photographic chemicals, 
  2.  resolving, moon behind me, yellow, lit like a lemurΓÇÖs 
  3.  great eye and rising, casting whose chimeric 
  4.  shadow down to merge with a mirror-image?ΓÇömark: 
  5.  before the stopped film burns through, curls 
  6.  back, catching fire, the whole chiaroscuro 
  7.  gone, the frail electric surface of the North American 
  8.  Desert disrupted, sand to stained glass in a great scare- 
  9.  crow cratering, to blind this candled cockerelΓÇö 
  10.   
  11.  Not dawn. Begin again: choke back these Kyries  
  12.  for now, and spin this tale with all the arrogance 
  13.  that it requires, beginning with diaspora,  
  14.  while highway reels black asphalt back across this sparse 
  15.  moonscape like a strip of exposed film, frame, frame,
